Florence Buchanan and Karen McIntyre creative directed the first cross-franchise campaign for all Alka Seltzer and Alka Seltzer Plus products aiming to attract a younger male target. They brought back the brand's distinctive 1950s icon Speedy Alka Seltzer in tv:15s, print (Maxim, Playboy and Rolling Stone), pizza boxes, online games and The Great American Road Trip, a series of webfilms about food, drink and good times, featuring Rhett and Link with Speedy.

Alka Seltzer also introduced a brand new product, Wake-Up Call, which claimed to treat hangovers – so naturally, that was a fun assignment.

Alka Seltzer Plus was the Official Cold Medicine of the US Ski Team, so naturally Speedy went on the slopes with star Olympic hopefuls, Lindsay Vonn and Billy Demong.
